Beginning Bridge

Can you count up to thirteen without using your toes? Can you add eight and five without using a calculator?

Then you are qualified to take our beginners’ course.

It assumes no previous knowledge at all and students start by learning a simplified form of bridge called MiniBridge . This means students have the fun of playing cards while developing the ideas and skills to use in bridge. We soon move on to full Bridge and by the end of three terms, you will have mastered the basics of the game.

Most students continue for a second year, taking our Continuing Bridge course, which develops your ability to play the cards and how to deal with less common hand types.

We believe that learning bridge is more than just lessons so all the time you are learning you can consolidate your classes and enjoy a friendly game with your colleagues in our special beginners’ play sessions.

For 2010/11 there will be the choice of two Beginning Bridge Courses:

Monday mornings from 10.45 to 12.45, starting on 27th September.
Tutor: Steve Lee
Tuesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, starting on  28th September.
Tutor: Chrys Poole

Each course will run for three terms of 10 weeks each.

The cost will be £85.00 for each ten-week course.
